Papua New Guinea 1 Kina - Elizabeth II

This is a gorgeously detailed coin out of Papua New Guinea with two saltwater Crocodiles on it and the original coin as seen in the photos above actually already had a hole so their is no detail lost (you get 100% of the coin). This would be a phenomenal coin ring for anyone with history of the region or for anyone who may be a serious reptile hobbyist!

Beauty isn't all this coin ring offers though, there's some real interesting facts behind this coin and what it symbolizes in Papua New Guinea.

According to Papua New Guinean legend, humans evolved from crocodiles that became land-dwelling when they emerged from the Sepik River - which runs alongside Chambri Lake to pay tribute to the creatures from which they evolved, the boys of the tribe are taken to a spirit house and kept there for six weeks before the initiation process happens.

Note: Sizes larger than 11 might require a bit larger hole be cut removing a little detail.

I was initially very excited to order this ring as a gift, but the process became very drawn out and poorly communicated. I had to request updated tracking information and experienced multiple issues and delays with the shipping and receiving of this product because of gaps in communication and information that I otherwise have never encountered when ordering through Etsy shops. The ring, when I did finally receive it, came out wonderfully, but after less than a few days of wear, it’s already started to have large portions of the gold plating chip off. I’m fairly disappointed with the end result, but do appreciate the work that did go into making this product.
