These are not pre-molded but rather I take this US Mint issued coin and under extreme fire I fold it inside out so all the details both front and back are perfectly intact just as the mint produced them. The coin to ring conversion is shaped to fit your size, side with reed preserved while the opposite polished to a beautiful smooth comfortable finish and then finished to your specifications in a mirror polished finish, antique patina (as seen in the photos), real 24k Gold, Platinum or Rose Gold plating as desired. If you have a preference, I can also make your ring in a dome style finish (aka fat tire sides) or flat wall (aka Swedish straight walls) - your choice. If you don't indicate what you would like, I'll just make it according to what I feel will look the nicest for your sized ring. This ring is completely custom made for you as you request and will be very unique and one of a kind.
The 2000 Leif Ericson Silver Dollar was issued by the United States Mint in cooperation with the Republic of Iceland. The commemorative coin program included a U.S. silver dollar and an Icelandic 1,000 kronur coin. Each coin depicted Leif Ericson to mark the 1,000th anniversary of his discovery of the New World.
The obverse of the U.S. coin features a portrait of Leif Ericson designed by John Mercanti in traditional Icelandic style. The inscriptions include “Leif Ericson”, “In God We Trust”, “Liberty”, and the year of issue “2000”. The reverse of the coin, designed by T. James Ferrell, depicts a Viking ship with Leif Ericson at the helm. The inscriptions include “Founder of the New World”, “One Dollar”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “United States of America.”
Produced at the Philadelphia Mint. The US version carried the “P” mintmark, while the Icelandic version did not have a mint mark. The U.S. version of the coin was offered individually in uncirculated or proof. The Icelandic version was offered individually in proof. A two coin proof set was offered with each version of the coin. The maximum authorized production was 500,000 coins.
The coins were available for sale at the US Mint from June 21, 2000 to February 28, 2001. A surcharge added to the cost of each coin went to support the Leifur Eiriksson Foundation to fund exchange programs between the United States and Republic of Iceland.

My wife and I are both from the USA, but, met each other while we were each vacationing in Iceland. The night before she left for her trip, she opened a fortune cookie that read: "Go on a long voyage and receive unexpected gains". The next day when she arrived in Iceland, we met and hit it off immediately...one year later we were married. Now, many years after we first met and my wife sometimes remembering the fortune as having read: "...receive unexpected PAINS", we now have this beautifully crafted ring, as the ideal symbol of how we first met. Expertly crafted. Quickly shipped. A true gift to be handed down for generations. Thanks again Michael!

Michael does excellent work!! We wanted a coin ring for our Navy Chief hero and found this Icelandic coin, since our Chief is of Iceland descent. Michael did a superb job on the ring and our Chief is so impressed and happy with his ring. I would recommend to anyone, especially if you have a specific coin in mind. I also have to 5 star Patriot coins because Michael went to bat with the Post Office when the Post Office messed up a delivery for our coin. Thanks, Michael, once again, on a terrific one of a kind ring!
