IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't use a basic electroplating kit. Many hobbyists kits are available for chemical or basic pen electroplate plating. Expect approximately 8x times more Gold or other plating applied than any other service. These non-professional kits only apply up to 0.5 microns thick plating while ours applies 4.0 microns plus!
I'm a professional jeweler with over 20 years of experience and plate all kinds of things (not just rings or jewelry) so don't hesitate to ask if you need a quote for something crazy. I've been sent drones, car parts, electronics, concept car parts by auto manufacturers, belt buckles, trophies, just about everything you can imagine, and offer commercial (High Quality) services to jewelers across the USA. Offering such high-end service and craftsmanship includes often required base and barrier layers prior to the actual service as required and where needed. I charge NOTHING UPFRONT, and you are only invoiced "AFTER" the work is complete to guarantee 100% satisfaction. As such, yes real gold and using commercial grade equipment is more expensive than using a hobbyist kit.
PRICES WITHIN THIS AD ARE BASED ON AN AVERAGED SIZE 8mm WIDE RING or similar items like small pendants or very thin chains (send pictures and details to get a quote for larger items). Message me if you have something else for an accurate quote and read all the information below as they will probably answer all your questions.
Typical 2-3 Day Turn Around Time on most items (not guaranteed depending on how busy I am with other orders received prior to yours).
Has your coin ring become aged, lost its luster, precious metal plating, or antique patina? Regardless of the type of plating (I don't only do gold - see options offered below) Send it to me and I'll refinish it to look as good as new again. Just note that while I can remove most scratches and dings, not all can always be removed and plating alone will not fill in and cover those issues all of the time (the plating is as good as the metal beneath it). For those wondering if I plate more than just rings, "YES I DO" but prices will differ if it requires more precious metal and/or labor than a normal 8mm band so don't hesitate to contact me if you have something unique you want to enquire about.
Here’s how to get started...
1. Contact me here first along with a picture of your item to be plated, length, width, and general description especially the type of metal it's going on. Yes, gems are okay if they are mounted on your item as they won't be disturbed.
2. If we come to an agreement on what service you'll need, mail your ring/item to me at the address below and "PAY NOTHING UPFRONT". Be sure to include your name, Etsy user name (if different), Phone Number (in case I need to call you when received), and full details along with any special requests. When shipping your item, be sure to get tracking information and insurance if needed just to avoid any USPS issues with delivery.
3142 Sunset Vista Court
Chino Hills, California 91709-1285
(I NEVER RECOMMEND PUTTING MY COMPANY NAME OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD INDICATE JEWELRY IS INSIDE ON THE ENVELOPE TO PREVENT ANYONE ALONG THE USPS LINE FROM BEING TEMPTED TO SEE WHAT'S INSIDE)
3. Protective Coatings! Exclusive to PCR Jewelry, you can request protective coating(s) which for some jewelry (not ideal on all jewelry so your item(s) will first need to be inspected). This isn't a free service so enquire on a quote if additional protection is desired.
Finally, it should go without saying but I've been questioned by some so this obvious information is publically listed. Plating is a micron thin plating over the surface of another metal so using a protective coating "if" your item can take it is the best way to make it last and help prevent oxidation much longer than normal but common sense care should always be taken of any item, jewelry, or other if you want it to last. Don't expect to go digging in the garden and scratching it against abrasive objects and for it to be impervious to fading or removal. Also, hand sanitizers can soften and remove protectants so be aware of that. The only thing better than the Jewelers Clear Coat is a Transparent (which should be reapplied monthly) is Hypoallergenic Powder Coating (Hypo-Powder Coating) that puts a hardened shell on your band and comes with a 3 year re-application guarantee (no reapplications unlike JCC is needed). Questions? Just ask.

▶ BULK DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE (let me know if you are a reseller/manufacturer or just have a lot of pieces to do)
▶ Resizing Not Included in this service
▶ Precious Metal Plating does not remove pre-existing scratches, abrasions, or dings
▶ This is an offer for "Service" and not for a coin ring or other item other than what is ordered.
▶ Hypoallergenic Powder Coating (aka Hypo-Powder Coating guarantees it won't fade for a minimum of 3 years otherwise return it for a free refinishing (all shipping is the responsibility of the customer) limited to no more than one (1) refinishing, plating and reapplication of hyposealer again within the 3 year period. More details on Hypo-Powder Coating can be found here...
▶ Jewelers Clear Coating (JCC) first application is FREE and an individual 5ml use bottle and applicator is available for most items.
▶ Buyer to pay for shipping the item to us but return shipping will be FREE of charge unless you decide to back out of the service and not pay to have it done.
▶ Some items may need more than just a plating but base coats and/or barrier layers of precious metal before the final precious metal coat of your choice. Your jewelry/item is only as bright and clean as the metal beneath it so if it's scratched or discolored, it's going to show through if the surface can't be completely cleaned or replated with base coatings. If you feel a piece in really bad shape, send me a photo and we can discuss what needs to be done to make it look new again. There is no guarantee as to the longevity or durability of the plating. I simply can't know how my customers will take care of their items or abuse them and precious metal plating is simply a micron thin surface coating of precious soft metal that can and will scratch or fade with time in many cases just as to the reason you are probably contacting me now if you are having something replated.
▶ I've never had anything returned to me and thus far a 100% customer satisfaction of my services however by ordering this service you agree that if in the event I agree to a refund or worse a court case or arbitration by anyone is performed, there will be no refund greater than what was originally charged. There is no guarantee for damage to the item(s) whether the said damage occurs before in a test trial, attempt to plate or after plating occurs. PCR will not be responsible for anything greater than the cost of the service and any refund will be at the discretion of PCR Jewelry (aka Patriot Coin Rings), Michael Baker, employee or affiliate. Again, with this being said, I've not yet ever had anyone less than 5 Star Excited about the results of my work as can be read in the reviews.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here and I hope this service satisfactorily takes care of your issue 😊
